We’re Allan Lipp and Mhairi Ross, also known as Stormy and Steth. On 1 June 2024 we embarked on a world-record attempt to circumnavigate Great Britain by rowing boat!
The Long Row Home was all about pushing boundaries, testing limits, and raising funds for two incredible charities: the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) and SCAA (Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance).
And, while we have certainly succeeded in the mental and physical challenge, and raising money for our chosen charities (a sincere thank you to all our supporters), the forecasted weather led to us pausing the row in Tobermory on 20 August 2024.
Departing from Wick, in the far North of Scotland, our journey has spanned 1,462 nautical miles of coastline and taken 80 days.
Our vessel, Boudicea, a seven-metre-long carbon-fibre boat, has been our home as we navigated the open seas, often in very challenging conditions. Completely unassisted, we relied on meticulously planned supplies and a desalinator unit to sustain us throughout our journey.
